Our international leadership development business Hedfan takes to the skies….

In the literal sense of the word ‘hedfan’ (to fly) our business, who specialise in providing leadership development, flew to Egypt earlier this year.

Leadership training

Hedfan were commissioned to provide leadership training to mid-level and senior managers over a three-day period, and so our founder, Naomi Coleman, dutifully travelled to Sharm-El-Sheik.

The mission

Our mission was to provide topical insights into leadership today with a focus on:

  • Leading with emotional intelligence
  • Appreciating differences
  • Being a trusted leader and developing trust
  • Being a coaching leader
  • Having difficult conversations
  • Active listening…. and more

The programme

  • The programme was co-designed with our client. Once we understood our client needs, we created relevant content.
  • It began with online orientation sessions to provide insight into the program and to set expectations.
  • It followed with three in-person days.
  • It concluded with online action learning sets, or group problem solving sessions, to continue embedding the learnt skills and behaviours.
  • It utilised a learning software program called Giraffe Pad which enabled the cohort to access resources, keep track of events and maintain a conversation and dialogue throughout.

We become a part of your team

We develop close relationships during our delivery with programme participants. These relationships are built on ongoing accessibility, dialogue and trust between participants and our facilitators. We take the weight of ongoing communication and coordination off our clients and speak to our participants directly.

A personal note of thanks from Naomi

The night before I left to take to the skies, I fell over my suitcase and broke my hand. Can you believe it? The entire time whilst I was there, I spent prepping to deliver and setting up the room, and during delivery, I was very looked after. The hotel staff at the Park Regency Hotel in Sharm-El-Sheik were incredible – nothing was any trouble. They really made the experience what it was. I would highly recommend it as both a conference centre and holiday destination (I am planning on taking my daughters there in 2025).

Our client too, were caring, concerned and supportive. They met me at the airport, settled me into the hotel, ensured I was comfortable, showed me around, and made me feel a part of the team.

I am proud that I went on to deliver a successful programme to people who I hope to stay in contact with, and work with for years to come.
